Protect the membrane first
A roof terrace fails when decking installers treat waterproofing as a finish to decorate over casually. Pedestal systems and protective layers keep falls working and inspection routes open. If the membrane is already compromised, repair it before dressing the roof.
Wind, falls and access
High terraces see stronger wind uplift at edges and parapets. Edge boards and skirting need mechanical sense, not just aesthetics. Material staging through lifts or cranes affects cost as much as board grade.
Confirm railing and fall-protection rules with your MCST or QP where relevant — decking does not replace safety codes.
Board and subframe choices
